Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

Join a privately owned engineering consultancy in North Sydney, working on complex, energy‑efficient building projects. As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer you will lead power, lighting and UPS system design while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead electrical design from concept through construction documentation, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and NCC.
• Produce power distribution, lighting, earthing, ELV and emergency system calculations and coordinated BIM packages.
• Guide junior engineers, resolve design and site issues, and manage project cost, quality and programme targets.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering with at least 4 years of consulting or design experience in the built environment.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency, and ability to lead design packages from feasibility to detailed design.
• Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders and a focus on technical excellence balanced with commercial reality.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Revit, DIALux, AGI32 and Bluebeam.
• Experience working in a BIM environment and delivering coordinated calculation packages.
