Maintenance Technician Level 1 – North Region

About the role

Join Sydney Water’s Network Maintenance Group to maintain critical water and wastewater infrastructure across Greater Sydney. You will respond to urgent call‑outs, repair broken mains, and support daily coordination of field work.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to emergency call‑outs, burst mains, blocked sewers and routine maintenance tasks across Ryde, Seven Hills and Warriewood.
• Use advanced field technology and digital tools to diagnose issues, capture data and communicate in real time.
• Identify hazards, apply PPE and follow strict safety protocols while protecting the public.
• Provide on‑site support, guide daily work and contribute ideas for safer, more sustainable solutions.

Required profile

• Australian citizen or permanent resident living within the Sydney metropolitan area.
• Hold a Medium Rigid (MR) or Heavy Rigid (HR) driver’s licence (or be willing to obtain).
• SafeWork NSW Construction Induction (White Card).
• Ability to reach the Networks Maintenance production area within 30 minutes for after‑hours emergencies.

Required skills

• Medium/Heavy Rigid licence.
• White Card (construction induction).
• Trade Certificate III in Plumbing, Water Industry Operations or Civil Construction (or equivalent experience).
• Excavator ticket and confined spaces ticket (preferred).
