Director, Community Housing

About the role

St George Community Housing (SGCH) is a not-for-profit community housing provider delivering safe, secure housing to more than 12,000 customers across NSW, Victoria and Queensland. Reporting to the Chief Customer Officer and joining the Senior Leadership Team, the Director, Community Housing gives strategic and operational leadership to social housing programs and tenancy services. The role leads a multi-disciplinary team of eight direct reports and plays a key part in organisational change, stronger service delivery and future growth.

Key responsibilities

• Build a consistent service model across regions and improve the customer experience
• Lead responses to complex tenancy matters, anti-social behaviour and customer escalations
• Review and improve systems, processes and ways of working
• Drive leadership capability, engagement and organisational change
• Support growth and ensure services, structures and systems are scalable

Required profile

• Significant leadership experience in community housing, disability, aged care, mental health, property or a related service delivery environment
• Strong operational leadership, including leading large, geographically dispersed teams
• Executive to Board level advisory experience, strong communication and relationship-building skills, and financial acumen including managing budgets, forecasting and productivity improvement
• Demonstrated success leading transformation, continuous improvement and change initiatives
• Genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and improving customer outcomes

Work conditions

• Permanent, full-time position on a hybrid basis, with a minimum of three days per week in the office
• Regular travel across SGCH locations including Redfern, St Leonards, Liverpool and Bonnyrigg
• A current NSW driver's licence is required
