Facilities Manager

About the role

BGRE is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to join its team on a full-time, permanent basis. The role covers the strategic and operational delivery of hard facilities services across an allocated portfolio, keeping building assets and critical infrastructure safe, compliant, reliable and cost-effective while building strong stakeholder relationships. Reporting to the Senior Facilities Manager, Operations, the post suits someone with strong technical and operational expertise and excellent stakeholder management skills.

Key responsibilities

• Support the preparation of the client's annual operating budget, review and approve invoices within authority limits, and contribute to strategy, budget and capital expenditure planning
• Manage the facility, including out-of-hours plant and compliance testing, a 24-hour emergency call-out service, and escalation of incidents and risks
• Guide and motivate Facilities Supervisors, respond to reported issues and manage the contract according to performance expectations
• Monitor and deliver KPIs under the Management Agreements, attend client meetings and assist auditors for third-party reviews, WHS and environmental audits
• Oversee building services: tender and schedule contracts, manage subcontractors and suppliers, keep defect and asset registers, and schedule preventative maintenance
• Manage tenant fit-outs, service requests and site inspections, and provide technical advice to clients
• Take part in operations meetings, budgeting and strategy reviews, and perform other tasks directed by senior managers

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a facilities management role in a building or facilities management environment
• Ideally 3 years' experience in scoping and tendering
• Proactive, composed and self-starting, with strong stakeholder management skills

Required skills

• WHS, QA and ideally environmental legislation and systems training
• Familiarity with services such as lifts, fire and electrical systems
• Ideally a current first aid certificate
