Development Engineer

About the role

The City of Rockingham is seeking a Development Engineer to join its Planning Department Services Team. You will apply specialist civil engineering knowledge to support and influence the City’s land development process, including the assessment of Structure Plans, Subdivision Plans, Development Applications and civil engineering approvals.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and assess Structure Plans, Subdivision Plans and Development Applications.
• Provide civil engineering approvals and advice for road and drainage infrastructure projects.
• Model and implement urban water management concepts.
• Lead and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders on technical matters.

Required profile

• Knowledge of planning processes and statutory guidance for greenfield and urban infill development.
• Ability to perform composite analysis and interpret technical data for road and drainage design.
• Experience in project management, construction techniques and coordination of civil engineering works.
• Demonstrated experience leading a team and high‑level negotiation skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3D Civil software.
