Department Manager - Sydney Flagship

About the role

H&M Group is hiring a Department Manager for its Sydney flagship store. The manager leads the team behind the counter, supports and encourages everyone, and fosters an inclusive culture that promotes collaboration and an entrepreneurial spirit. The role sits within the Store Team and works alongside the wider Area Team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the team to deliver an outstanding customer experience through excellent operational and visual standards, while actively promoting and selling products.
• Own the store's strengths, analyse sales performance, identify commercial opportunities, set goals and plan to optimise results, profits and stock levels.
• Manage team planning and scheduling, and ensure smooth opening and closing routines.
• Recruit, onboard and develop the team in an inclusive, collaborative way.
• Stay up to date on fashion trends, customer preferences and competitors.
• Represent the brand positively in all customer interactions.

Required profile

• Retail management and operations experience.
• Strong leadership skills, with a passion for coaching and developing teams.
• Expertise in sales planning, analysis and follow-up, using customer-centric tools and reporting.
• Keen interest in fashion trends, commerciality and competitor insights.
• Flexible, analytical and able to manage statistics and work with numbers.
