Data Specialist

About the role

Fixus Technologies is looking for a detail-focused Data Specialist in Bendigo, Victoria, working in a hybrid arrangement. The role supports data migration, reporting and analytics across its health information management software products, working with the onboarding team on client data migration, contributing data expertise to the development team and delivering accurate reporting and Power BI outputs. It reports to the Client Support Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the onboarding team on client data migration, including extraction, transformation, validation and import
• Analyse source data, identify data quality issues and prepare data mapping, migration notes and validation outputs
• Support testing and verification of migrated data and troubleshoot migration issues during onboarding projects
• Develop and maintain SQL queries, scripts and data extracts, and work with Microsoft Azure SQL databases
• Create and maintain reports, dashboards and Power BI outputs, and support client and internal reporting needs
• Provide data-related input to the development team on product features, reporting requirements and database changes
• Document data migration, reporting and recurring data processes, and handle sensitive data securely

Required profile

• Strong practical experience with relational databases and SQL
• Experience with Microsoft Azure SQL or similar cloud-hosted database platforms
• Good understanding of data migration processes and data quality issues
• Software development background or proven ability to work closely with software development teams
• Ability to write clear, reliable and maintainable SQL queries and scripts
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and good documentation habits
• Ability to communicate technical data issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders
