Commercial Manager, NSW & ACT

About the role

As the Finance & Commercial Business Partner for NSW/ACT, you will join the regional leadership team to embed strategic financial plans and provide commercial insight that drives sustainable growth. You will work closely with senior leaders, turning data into actionable recommendations.

Key responsibilities

• Act as senior finance business partner to the Managing Director and Operations Director.
• Develop and oversee financial and commercial strategies, monitor delivery against goals and translate performance into actions.
• Own regional business planning, reforecasting, monthly reviews, reporting and analysis.
• Provide commercial input into bids and proposals, balancing risk and reward.
• Oversee project financial performance, including setup, revenue, billing, forecasting and cash position.
• Identify trends, risks and opportunities using financial, backlog and pipeline data.
• Drive working capital outcomes through regular cash forecasting and updates.
• Maintain robust financial controls and ensure accurate internal and external reporting.
• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team across business analysis, commercial advisory and project accounting.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualifications with CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Significant finance and commercial experience in professional services or consulting, preferably engineering or project management.
• Proven success driving revenue, profitability, cash flow and working capital outcomes.
• Strong business acumen and ability to link finance initiatives to strategy.
• Experience operating in a matrix organisation and influencing senior leaders.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Knowledge of financial and commercial policies, governance, controls and project financial management.
• Continuous‑improvement mindset to strengthen systems and processes.
