Commercial Advisory Specialist

About the role

Join AECOM's Energy Advisory practice to provide commercial advice on energy sector engagements, supporting the transition to renewable and low‑carbon infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Structure and deliver commercial advice on business cases, market analysis, and feasibility assessments for energy projects.
• Lead or contribute to commercial and technical due diligence for transactions such as asset sales, M&A, and financing.
• Develop and interrogate financial and market models, investment appraisals, and feasibility analyses.
• Prepare client‑ready deliverables including business cases, due diligence reports, investment memoranda, and tender documentation.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in commercial, financial or transaction advisory within a professional services firm or equivalent in‑house team.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in commerce, finance, economics, engineering or related discipline; postgraduate study or progress toward CA/CFA is a plus.
• Strong analytical capability and confidence presenting findings to senior stakeholders.

Required skills

• Experience structuring commercial advice for energy sector engagements.
• Knowledge of energy market fundamentals and transition themes.
• Ability to develop financial and market models and conduct investment appraisals.
