Client‑Side Project Manager – Construction

About the role

SwitchCo is looking for an experienced Client‑Side Project Manager to lead complex infrastructure and maritime projects in Melbourne. You will have full autonomy to manage time, budget and quality while acting as a trusted advisor to our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead full‑lifecycle project planning, including feasibility studies, authority approvals and design management.
• Provide senior leadership to consultants, contractors and specialist stakeholders on live, operational or high‑risk sites.
• Drive procurement strategy, contract negotiation, risk allocation and commercial performance across multiple concurrent projects.
• Manage multi‑million‑dollar budgets, forecasting, variations and commercial risk.
• Lead compliance reviews, regulatory engagement and site governance inspections.
• Act as a strategic advisor to clients, delivering confident decision‑making and client satisfaction.

Required profile

• 5+ years delivering construction or infrastructure projects end‑to‑end (7–10 years preferred).
• Experience with high‑value or high‑risk projects in maritime, fuel, civil or infrastructure environments.
• Proven ability to manage scope, programme, budget and quality across multiple projects.
• Track record of leading consultants and contractors on large‑scale projects.
• Degree in building, engineering or project management is a plus.
