About the role

Seasons is seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to lead kitchen operations in its Waterford West community. The role combines culinary expertise, leadership and a commitment to service, delivering nutritious, delicious meals that enhance the quality of life of residents. It covers menu planning, food production, team leadership, food safety compliance and cost-effective kitchen management. The position is full-time on 6am-2pm shifts, working alternate weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all kitchen operations, ensuring meals meet high standards of quality, service and food safety.
• Plan, develop and implement seasonal menus according to dietary, nutritional and cultural needs.
• Manage food purchasing, supplier relationships, stock control and labour costs to meet budget and efficiency targets.
• Maintain Food Safety Program requirements, HACCP compliance and catering regulations.
• Train and coach kitchen team members in food preparation, safe food handling, procedures and equipment use.
• Work with residents and community teams, responding to feedback and improving menus and dining experiences.

Required profile

• Hands-on, compassionate chef with strong leadership skills and experience in high-volume food production.
• 5 years or more in a commercial kitchen, preferably in an aged care environment.
• Diploma of Hospitality Management or Certificate IV in Kitchen Management (essential).
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate - Health and Community Sector (essential).
• Unrestricted Australian working rights and current national police check.
