Casual Psychologist/Social Worker for VIP Research Study

About the role

This casual position supports parents of infants at high risk of cerebral palsy through weekly telehealth wellbeing sessions as part of the Very Early Intensive Enrichment Program (VIP) research study.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver weekly online parent wellbeing support sessions via telehealth following the VIP protocol.
• Provide evidence‑based counselling, psychoeducation, emotional support and practical guidance to families.
• Conduct psychosocial assessments and refer families for additional support when needed.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of allied health professionals and maintain accurate clinical documentation.

Required profile

• Qualified Psychologist or Social Worker registered with AHPRA or AASW.
• Experience supporting families of infants and young children, especially in neonatal intensive care, prematurity, new diagnoses, adjustment, grief, trauma or parental mental health.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and family‑centred care skills.
• Current Working with Children Check, driver’s licence and reliable internet with a private telehealth space.
