Business Development Manager

About the role

This position drives go‑to‑market effectiveness for the Government and Public Institutions (GPI) practice in Australia, managing panel and tender processes and supporting strategic growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the GPI opportunities pipeline, including panel applications and tender processes.
• Track tender portals, qualify opportunities, and make go/no‑go decisions.
• Serve as point of contact for public‑sector clients on procurement panels and portals.
• Develop high‑quality tender responses in collaboration with proposal managers and partners.
• Coordinate inputs across legal, finance and other departments, and ensure compliance and quality of submissions.
• Lead post‑submission reviews, capture feedback, and improve tender templates and processes.
• Provide regional business development support, including pipeline reporting and account planning.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in business development, tender or bid management, preferably within the public sector or professional services.
• Strong project management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, capable of producing clear, persuasive responses.
• Collaborative style with ability to build relationships across seniority levels.
• Confidence in influencing senior stakeholders and improving business development processes.
