Business Development Manager

About the role

Datacom is seeking an ambitious, customer‑focused Business Development Manager to join its Product Solutions Group in Melbourne. You will identify, develop and grow strategic opportunities across Victoria’s government and commercial sectors, leveraging Datacom’s technology portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and nurture strategic opportunities with government and commercial customers.
• Build trusted relationships with customers, technology partners and internal specialists.
• Guide opportunities from initial engagement through to successful closure, driving revenue growth.
• Navigate complex stakeholder environments and develop strong partner and vendor relationships.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering solutions that meet customer needs, from quoting to ordering.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to respond to customer requests with urgency.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and solutions offered by Datacom.
• Experience with major technology brands and the IT reseller supply process.

Required skills

• Excellent customer and vendor relationship management.
• Strong influencing and negotiation abilities.
• Experience using a sales CRM to track opportunity progression.
