Audit Manager - Private Clients

About the role

PwC Australia is hiring an Audit Manager for its Private Clients Audit team. You will lead external audit engagements for owner-managed businesses, family enterprises and high net worth clients, managing those relationships to deliver high-quality, tailored audit services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution and delivery of external audit engagements tailored to private clients, ensuring compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
• Manage and mentor audit teams, fostering a collaborative environment focused on quality and efficiency.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with private clients, understanding their business structures, financial reporting needs and risk profiles.
• Identify and assess financial and control risks and develop audit strategies to address client-specific challenges.
• Advise clients on financial reporting, governance and regulatory requirements relevant to private entities.
• Embrace innovative audit methodologies and technologies to improve service delivery.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex audit issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years' experience in external audit, preferably with private clients or owner-managed businesses.
• A recognised Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop audit teams, manage multiple engagements and deliver consistent, high-quality results.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and influence senior stakeholders in private client businesses.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of auditing standards, financial reporting frameworks and regulatory requirements for private entities.
• Ability to interpret complex financial information and business challenges.
