Assurance Manager – Retail Products (12‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Retail Products Assurance Manager provides independent first‑line assurance across ANZ's Retail Products portfolio, which includes credit cards, personal loans, deposits, payments, insurance and superannuation. Reporting to the Advisory & Controls Division, the role helps ensure that customer, regulatory, operational and risk obligations are effectively managed.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver assurance reviews for change initiatives, confirming adherence to change‑governance standards.
• Assess design and effectiveness of controls, identify gaps, emerging risks and improvement opportunities.
• Produce evidence‑based findings, practical recommendations and high‑quality assurance reports for senior management.
• Provide independent challenge to risk‑management practices and monitor remediation of identified issues.
• Support the PACT program, SCFE transformation and Suncorp Integration by delivering insight into risk, control and customer‑outcome effectiveness.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in assurance, risk or control functions within financial services.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to identify systemic risks and root causes.
• Excellent communication skills to build trusted relationships with business, risk, compliance and assurance stakeholders.

Required skills

• Risk assessment and control evaluation techniques.
• Assurance reporting and evidence‑based recommendation development.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements for retail banking products.
