Associate / Vice President, Financial Institutions – Credit Management

About the role

MUFG is seeking an Associate or Vice President to lead Financial Institutions Credit Management in its Sydney/Melbourne team. You will manage a diverse FI portfolio across Australia and New Zealand, driving revenue growth through origination and execution of complex transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee a portfolio of FI clients, monitoring borrower performance and credit profiles.
• Lead refinancing activities and complex transaction execution with coverage teams.
• Provide insights on revenue generation, profit optimisation, balance‑sheet management and loss limitation.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (regional management, product teams, FICO, SFCO, MGS) to share sector insights.
• Coach junior team members and conduct independent market research to inform credit decisions.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years (Associate) or 7 years (Vice President) experience in institutional lending, preferably within the FI sector.
• Degree in Business, Commerce, Law or related field; advanced qualifications (MBA, CFA) are a plus.
• Strong understanding of financial markets, economic environments and FI sector dynamics.
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
