Associate / Senior Associate – Insurance Law

About the role

McCabes, a leading Australian commercial, government and insurance law firm, is seeking an experienced senior lawyer to join its high‑performing Insurance Division in Brisbane. The role involves handling high‑value matters for premium insurer clients across a range of sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and deliver personal injury and general insurance matters from inception to completion.
• Lead and mentor junior lawyers, providing guidance and supervision on complex cases.
• Communicate effectively with experts and clients, ensuring high‑quality advice and service.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (or equivalent) with a current Queensland practising certificate.
• Minimum 3 years post‑admission experience in general insurance, including liability claims and personal injury proceedings in Queensland.
• Demonstrated commercial focus and ability to negotiate and articulate advice clearly.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of insurance law, liability claims and personal injury litigation.
• Ability to lead teams, mentor junior lawyers and manage multiple matters simultaneously.
