Associate, Project Finance Portfolio Management

About the role

The Associate will join MUFG's Project Finance Portfolio Management team in Sydney, supporting credit analysis and ongoing portfolio management for Project Finance customers across Australia. Reporting to the PF Infra and Resources Director, the role involves both analytical and client‑facing responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct periodic reviews of customer credit and risk profiles, including annual credit reviews and internal rating updates.
• Support Relationship Managers and Portfolio Leads in preparing credit proposals, client presentations, and account plans for new and existing transactions.
• Assist with refinancing initiatives, revenue projects, and compliance with internal policies across the portfolio.
• Coordinate with the broader MUFG network and interact with clients on onboarding and account management tasks.

Required profile

• 4–6 years of experience in institutional lending, credit research, or related fields such as chartered accounting, investment banking, or treasury.
• Strong mathematical ability, solid understanding of Australian industry, business and economic environments, and high attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
