Key responsibilities

  • Lead architectural design and delivery for defence, research and nuclear projects, translating safety case and regulatory requirements into robust design solutions.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams (architecture, structural, services, specialist systems) to produce cohesive, high‑quality outcomes.
  • Maintain design integrity across all project stages and ensure compliance with standards such as Defence, NCC, IAEA and other nuclear frameworks.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders, building trusted relationships and aligning project objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring and continuous improvement for project teams.

Required profile

  • Accredited degree in Architecture with registration (or eligibility) as an Architect in Australia.
  • 10–15+ years of architectural experience, including leadership on complex, safety‑critical projects.
  • Proven experience as Project Architect or Principal Consultant on medium to large‑scale projects.

  • Australian citizenship or eligibility for AUKUS clearance; NSQEP recognition is highly regarded.

Required skills

  • Safety‑in‑design principles and human factors integration.
  • Complex systems integration in high‑hazard environments.

What we offer

  • Flexible work arrangements including hybrid options, alternative start/finish times and job‑sharing.
  • Up to six weeks of additional annual leave and flexible public holidays.
  • Continuous learning opportunities such as lunch‑and‑learns, professional development courses and paid study leave.
