Associate Director Mechanical Engineer – Building Engineering

About the role

AECOM is expanding its Building Engineering team in Perth and seeks an Associate Director Mechanical Engineer to provide strategic leadership on major mechanical projects across multiple sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery and commercial performance for large‑scale mechanical projects.
• Develop and grow client relationships in health, defence, aviation, transport and other key sectors.
• Set design direction, conduct high‑level reviews and ensure best‑practice standards across all mechanical deliverables.
• Mentor and develop engineering talent, creating clear career pathways.
• Contribute to business growth through work winning and market engagement.

Required profile

• Chartered Engineer with WA professional registration (or equivalent RPEQ/RPEV).
• 15+ years experience in building services consultancy or mechanical contracting.
• Proven record of technical design, project delivery and strong client relationship management.
• Broad knowledge of building services standards and ability to share expertise across teams.
• Excellent communication skills and a passion for mentoring junior engineers.
