Associate Director, Debt Capital Markets (Sydney)

About the role

ANZ’s Institutional Bank is seeking an Associate Director for its Debt Capital Markets team in Sydney. The role focuses on client engagement, deal development and supporting the Australian DCM franchise to meet its financial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Grow and deepen relationships with key capital‑markets clients, expanding the product suite to meet client and market needs.
• Collaborate with the Debt and Derivatives Institutional Rates Sales team to deliver integrated debt and derivative solutions.
• Provide timely market and business updates to internal relationship networks and external clients.
• Work closely with partners across Credit, Trade, Specialized Finance, Lending and global product teams as part of a coverage model.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies and ANZ’s conflicts procedures.
• Manage transactions through risk‑management and control processes throughout the deal lifecycle.

Required profile

• 3–4 years of proven experience in capital markets, preferably within debt capital markets.
• Strong interpersonal, influencing and negotiation abilities to advise senior stakeholders.
• Experience working with syndicate teams on book‑building, documentation, roadshows, pricing, execution and hedging.
• Highly organised with the capacity to thrive in a high‑pressure environment.
