Assistant Manager - Hotel Operations

About the role

The Novotel & ibis Styles Melbourne Airport is a dual-branded property with 464 rooms, located just steps from Terminal 4 of Melbourne Airport. It is looking for an Assistant Manager to coordinate and manage the day-to-day operations of the hotel while leading and inspiring the team to enhance the guest experience. This is a full-time position averaging about 38 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily hotel operations and lead the team to improve the guest experience.
• Proactively and resourcefully attend to guest requests and keep customer interactions positive and productive.
• Resolve complaints and challenges raised by customers using the necessary skills and training.
• Provide guidance, support training and leadership to all employees, and monitor training while staff are on shift.
• Assist in all areas of the hotel during peak times to prevent issues.
• Take responsibility for the health and safety of patrons, guests and staff.
• Work varied shifts from early morning to late evening, including weekends and public holidays.

Required profile

• A confident, reliable person with a keen eye for detail, always polished and professional, able to connect with others and build a positive, collaborative team.
• An Australian full driver's licence or probationary licence (P2).
• A valid Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate in Victoria.
