Assistant Manager – Agribusiness Banking

About the role

The Assistant Manager will work closely with a Relationship Manager to support a portfolio of agribusiness customers. This position offers the chance to develop specialist industry knowledge while contributing to growth through acquisition, cross‑selling and referrals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of each customer’s business and financial needs.
• Provide customer‑centric solutions using appropriate banking products and services.
• Manage account maintenance, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
• Oversee workflow control across compliance and customer fulfilment processes.
• Collaborate with product partners and other stakeholders to meet customer requirements.

Required profile

• Prior experience in a commercial banking frontline role, including commercial lending.
• Strong ability to build and maintain customer relationships and resolve service queries.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail when reviewing agreements and contracts.
• Capability to assess creditworthiness using both qualitative and quantitative factors (the 5Cs of credit).
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and keep accurate customer documentation.
