Assistant Financial Accountant

About the role

Join Qantas' International Finance Team as an Assistant Financial Accountant, supporting offshore business units and delivering month‑end close and international reporting. This 24‑month fixed‑term position is based at the Mascot Campus and offers the chance to contribute to process improvements and automation within a leading airline.

Key responsibilities

• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Support tax compliance and month‑end close activities for offshore portfolios.
• Assist the International Financial Controller and senior finance team members.
• Identify and implement simplification, automation and transition initiatives for the International Finance team.

Required profile

• Certificate III or IV in a relevant discipline.
• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong communication, attention to detail and analytical mindset.
• Motivated self‑starter with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.

Required skills

• Experience with Oracle R12.
• Experience with Essbase.
