Accounts Payable Officer – Hybrid (Melbourne)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join a respected employer in Melbourne. The position is hybrid, with three days in the office and two days remote, and starts as an initial three‑month contract.

Key responsibilities

• Process invoices and staff reimbursements.
• Handle Direct Debits, BPAYs, international and ad‑hoc payments.
• Process credit‑card transactions and manage their reconciliation and approval.
• Perform bank account reconciliations.
• Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs.
• Assist with end‑of‑month tasks, including direct‑debit accruals.
• Manage the accounts email inbox.

Required profile

• At least 12 months experience in a high‑volume transactional environment.
• Practical experience using ERP accounting software.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, V‑lookups).
• Strong communication and customer‑service orientation.
• Ability to meet deadlines consistently.
