Accountant – Fixed-term (12 months) – North Sydney

About the role

We are looking for an Accountant to join our finance team at the North Sydney head office on a fixed‑term parental‑leave contract of approximately 12 months. This position is ideal for recently qualified accountants who want to move from practice into an industry setting and gain commercial finance experience.

Key responsibilities

• Monthly management reporting and analysis
• Month‑end close, including accruals, pre‑payments and journal entries
• Balance‑sheet reconciliations
• Budget variance analysis
• Supervision of Accounts Payable
• Assistance with half‑year and year‑end external audits

Required profile

• CA/CPA qualified with an Accounting, Business or Finance degree
• 3+ years of accounting and tax experience
• Management accounting and monthly reporting experience
• Proficient in cloud accounting software and advanced Excel/MS Office
• Strong technical aptitude with a commercial mindset
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Results‑driven, organised and able to supervise and motivate team members
