Account Manager, Polymer & Rubber

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, commercially driven Account Manager to expand our coatings business by managing existing customer relationships and creating new opportunities within the polymer and rubber markets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow customer relationships in the coatings, polymer and rubber sectors.
• Develop new business by promoting specialty raw materials and ingredients for coatings applications.
• Provide technical and commercial support, identifying solutions that improve product performance and deliver value.
• Collaborate with suppliers and principals to introduce innovative coating technologies.
• Conduct market analysis on industry trends, technologies, customer developments and competitor activities.
• Work closely with product managers and suppliers to execute growth strategies for the coatings portfolio.
• Undertake customer visits, supplier meetings, technical presentations and product demonstrations.

Required profile

• Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Coatings Technology or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of B2B sales, technical sales, business development or account management experience in coatings, paints, inks, adhesives, sealants, construction chemicals or specialty chemicals.
• Strong understanding of coatings formulations, raw materials, additives, pigments, resins, binders, solvents and performance requirements.
• Proven ability to build relationships with formulators, R&D teams, purchasing and commercial decision makers.
• Demonstrated commercial acumen with a track record of achieving sales growth and profitability targets.
• Experience with specialty chemical distributors, raw material manufacturers or coatings producers is highly preferred.
• Excellent presentation, negotiation and communication skills.
