Rates and Credit Manager – Financial Control

About the role

The Rates and Credit Manager will join the Global Business Unit Control team within Market and Treasury Financial Control (MTFC). The role ensures robust financial control, accurate reporting and compliance for the Rates and Credit desks across ANZ’s markets business.

Key responsibilities

• Execute financial control processes and ensure adherence to the MTFC framework and Group accounting policies.
• Validate and recognise P&L, produce daily P&L reports and support regulatory returns and attestations.
• Provide P&L attribution, explain business performance to senior management and produce Balance Sheet substantiation and commentary.
• Liaise daily with Head‑of‑Desk level stakeholders across Markets to maintain financial integrity.
• Lead and manage a team of approximately two senior controllers located in Singapore and Sydney.
• Supervise daily and periodic Rates and Credit tasks performed by MTFC colleagues in Manila, including P&L production/review and Balance Sheet validation.
• Collaborate with the Heads of Traded MTFC and Non‑Traded MTFC in Manila to align control activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial control or accounting within a markets or treasury environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a small team of senior controllers.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, interacting with senior business leaders and desk heads.
• Ability to ensure compliance with internal frameworks and external regulatory requirements.
