Director of Sport & PDHPE (K-12)

About the role

St Andrew's Cathedral School is seeking a purpose‑driven leader to head its Sport and PDHPE programme across all year levels. Reporting to the Deputy Head of Co‑Curricular, the Director will shape a holistic, faith‑informed curriculum that nurtures physical, emotional, social and spiritual development.

Key responsibilities

• Articulate and deliver a K‑12 vision for Sport & PDHPE aligned with the school’s Anglican ethos.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of coaches and teachers, fostering a culture of excellence and care.
• Design cohesive pathways from introductory participation to high‑performance sport.
• Embed wellbeing, respectful relationships, servant leadership and character development programmes.
• Oversee a high‑performance sport framework grounded in integrity, humility and teamwork.
• Build authentic partnerships with families, parishes and the wider community.
• Provide strategic stewardship of facilities, resources and operations to ensure sustainability and growth.

Required profile

• Personal commitment to the Christian faith and ability to model the school’s Anglican values.
• Proven senior leadership experience in Sport and/or PDHPE within a K‑12 setting.
• Strong strategic, future‑focused planning capability.
• Deep understanding of student wellbeing, safeguarding and duty of care.
• Success in curriculum and co‑curricular innovation.
• Experience managing facilities, budgets and external providers.
• Ability to build partnerships and manage vendors effectively.
