Early Childhood Teacher – Early Learning Centre

About the role

The Y Canberra Region is seeking a passionate Early Childhood Teacher to join its vibrant Early Learning Centres. You will create a nurturing environment where curiosity, creativity and wellbeing thrive for young children.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver a curriculum that supports early learning, development and wellbeing.
• Lead and mentor a team of educators, promoting best practices in early childhood education.
• Build strong partnerships with families and the wider community.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for all children.

Required profile

• ACE​CQA‑approved Early Childhood Teacher qualification (mandatory).
• Registered with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI).
• Minimum three years’ experience in an early childhood education setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• In‑depth knowledge of the EYLF, NQF and Education and Care professional standards.
• Collaborative, reflective approach to teamwork.
• Foundations of Child Safety Training Certificate (mandatory).
• Current Paid ACT Working With Vulnerable People card (WWVP) (mandatory).
• First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates or willingness to obtain them.
