Lead – Course Inherent Requirements (Access & Equity)

About the role

The Lead, Course Inherent Requirements will drive the implementation of Edith Cowan University’s inclusive framework for defining essential course requirements. Based in the Access and Equity unit, the role collaborates with academic staff, multidisciplinary teams and disability‑inclusion experts to embed consistent, equitable practices across the curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the contemporary course inherent requirements framework.
• Work with academic units to integrate inclusive requirements into curriculum quality assurance processes.
• Provide expert advice and support to staff on inclusive educational practice and disability inclusion.
• Facilitate capability‑building workshops and resources for university staff.
• Monitor and review course requirements to ensure alignment with equity and accessibility standards.

Required profile

• Proven ability to integrate inclusive educational approaches and equity principles into teaching and learning.
• Strong understanding of academic governance for units and courses.
• Experience collaborating with community, industry or professional partners in an educational setting.
• Scholarly activity in teaching and learning, particularly within higher education.
• Commitment to a student‑centred, inclusive learning experience.

Required skills

What we offer

• Fixed‑term contract until 31 December 2027 (0.6 FTE).
• Salary range: Level A $86,284–$115,664 pa (pro‑rata) or Level B $121,442–$143,486 pa (pro‑rata), plus 17 % superannuation.
