Director of New Ventures – Venture Creation & Startup Portfolio

About the role

We are building a portfolio of independent companies across multiple industries and need a Director of New Ventures to lead the entire venture creation process—from opportunity identification to company launch and early growth.

Key responsibilities

• Identify high‑potential markets and whitespace opportunities across sectors.
• Develop venture theses, business models, and new company concepts.
• Conduct market research, commercial validation, and business case development.
• Lead ventures from concept through validation to launch, building business plans, operating models, and go‑to‑market strategies.
• Support early‑stage incubation, market entry, and initial scaling of new companies.
• Build and manage a pipeline of new ventures and an ongoing portfolio of independent businesses.
• Track milestones, performance metrics, and growth indicators for portfolio companies.
• Recruit and onboard venture CEOs and founding teams, defining founder profiles and mentoring early‑stage leaders.
• Develop the ecosystem around the portfolio by establishing relationships with founders, investors, operators, and industry experts.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience launching ventures, startups, or new business units.
• Proven track record taking a venture from idea to market launch.
• Experience building business models, operating plans, and recruiting founding CEOs.
• Background as a startup founder, venture studio professional, corporate incubation leader, or similar.
• Ability to move quickly from idea to execution and provide strategic guidance during early growth.
