Workshop & Field Service Diesel Mechanic

About the role

Porter Plant is looking for an energetic, team-oriented Workshop and Field Service Diesel Mechanic based in Launceston, covering Launceston and North East Tasmania. The role offers a good mix of field service and workshop duties on a range of plant, vehicles and equipment, including servicing, repairs and planned maintenance on road and earthmoving equipment.

Required profile

• Trade qualified with appropriate relevant experience
• Experience servicing both passenger and heavy vehicles
• Ability to work unsupervised and hands-on approach
• Good computer skills and excellent organisational, communication and reporting skills
• Sound awareness of OH&S management principles
• Must pass a pre-employment medical and drug screen

Required skills

• Effective fault diagnosis on a variety of equipment
• Scheduled maintenance carried out in a timely and effective way
• Manual handling licence (not essential)
