Electrical Maintainer

About the role

Rio Tinto is looking for an experienced Electrical Maintainer to join its maintenance team at Bell Bay Aluminium, a smelter located about 50 km from Launceston in Northern Tasmania. The role covers planned and breakdown electrical maintenance across the plant and equipment, working with the team to identify and fix faults, complete preventative maintenance and improve asset reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance on electrical plant and equipment
• Identify, diagnose and rectify electrical faults and equipment defects
• Raise notifications and complete work orders through the maintenance management systems
• Carry out electrical isolations, testing and commissioning in line with site procedures
• Provide accurate feedback on asset condition, performance and reliability
• Support defect elimination, continuous improvement and asset reliability initiatives
• Complete maintenance according to work orders, job instructions and safety requirements, then test, commission and clean up after work
• Work with other trades and operational teams to minimise equipment downtime

Required profile

• Australian-recognised electrical trade qualification
• Current Australian A Grade Electrical Licence
• Valid C Class driver's licence
• Experience in electrical maintenance in an industrial, manufacturing, heavy industry or fixed plant environment
• Commitment to safety and ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team

Required skills

• Demonstrated electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting
• Electrical isolation, testing and commissioning
• Strong communication skills
