Works Supervisor – Road Maintenance & Construction

About the role

The Works Supervisor Level Two provides multidisciplinary works delivery within a specialist trade/engineering discipline for Transport for NSW. Reporting to the Project Engineer, you will lead road maintenance and construction crews to deliver projects on time, within budget and to the required quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and allocate resources for road maintenance and minor construction works.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of direct‑control staff and contractors.
• Monitor daily activities, compliance, WHS and environmental performance.
• Manage risks by collecting, analysing and reporting performance and safety data.
• Implement TfNSW WHS, Environment and Quality Management Systems on site.
• Supervise and coordinate specialist contractors, ensuring safe work processes.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in civil construction and road maintenance works.
• Proven ability to interpret project, construction and contract documentation.
• Experience leading crews and supervising both direct‑control and contractor teams.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for conflict resolution and negotiation.
