Workplace Relations Advisor (2-Month Contract)

About the role

Medibank is looking for an experienced Workplace Relations Advisor to join its People, Spaces & Sustainability team on a 2-month day-rate contract. The role provides pragmatic, commercially focused advice on employee and industrial relations matters, partnering with People teams, business leaders and key stakeholders to navigate complex workplace issues.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert workplace and industrial relations advice to leaders, People Partners and key stakeholders.
• Support complex employee relations matters, including investigations, conduct management and workplace disputes.
• Interpret enterprise agreements, awards and employment legislation to give practical guidance.
• Advise on organisational change, restructures and workforce-related risk.
• Support policy review and development across employee-related topics.
• Work with internal stakeholders and, where required, external parties such as unions and regulatory bodies.
• Contribute to workplace relations projects and help meet compliance obligations.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in workplace or industrial relations, confident in a fast-paced environment.
• Ideally: experience managing employee relations matters, investigations and conduct issues; experience advising leaders, People teams and payroll stakeholders; exposure to union engagement and industrial relations.
• Experience reviewing or developing workplace policies and procedures.
• Experience in a People Partnering role with strong employee and industrial relations exposure is highly regarded.
• Candidates from large and smaller organisations are welcome, provided they show broad hands-on experience.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of workplace legislation, awards and enterprise agreements.
• Stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Able to balance risk, compliance and commercial outcomes.
