Workers Compensation Underwriting Assistant

About the role

Join CGU’s Workers Compensation team as an Underwriting Assistant. You’ll support customers and brokers, process policy updates and renewals, and provide essential administration support. No prior insurance experience is required – training will be provided.

Key responsibilities

• Process policy updates, new business and renewals.
• Assist customers and brokers with enquiries.
• Manage credit queries and follow up outstanding premiums.
• Prepare reports and provide administration support.
• Collaborate with the team to deliver positive outcomes for customers.

Required profile

• Previous customer service or people‑focused experience with a passion for helping others.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to build rapport.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
• Proactive mindset and ability to adapt in a fast‑paced environment.
• Confidence using a range of systems and technology, with quick learning of new tools.
• Collaborative approach, able to work autonomously or as part of a team.
