Waterfront Supervisor

About the role

The Waterfront Supervisor will lead the performance of planned and corrective maintenance for vessels operating from our Cairns depot. This permanent, full‑time position ensures that all work is completed safely, on schedule and within budget while keeping vessels in class condition.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, plan and execute work lists for depot‑level and service‑visit maintenance periods.
• Control quality of work scope and ensure compliance with ISO standards, local legislation and Austal policies.
• Support safe, on‑time and on‑budget delivery of contracted work, managing resources and contractors as required.
• Monitor schedules, financial performance and report progress to stakeholders.
• Communicate expectations clearly to project teams, contractors and internal managers.
• Inspect and approve completed works, applying environmental and safety requirements.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering, project management, maintenance or trade qualification.
• Construction safety induction (white card) and experience supervising projects in the marine or maintenance industry.
• Strong knowledge of safety management practices, including confined spaces, heights, energized systems, risk assessments and permit processes.
• Proven ability to lead teams, resolve disputes and negotiate with internal and external parties.
