Ward Clerk – Surgical Ward 5B

About the role

The Ward Clerk provides essential clerical, administrative and reception support for Ward 5B, a 32‑bed surgical ward delivering orthopaedic, plastic, gynaecological, general, breast and ENT surgery. The role ensures smooth front‑of‑house operations and accurate patient record management.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver frontline reception and general administrative services to ward staff and visitors.
• Complete clerical tasks accurately and in a timely manner, maintaining data integrity in patient medical records.
• Coordinate and follow up on ward documentation, supplies and communications.
• Prioritise workload under pressure and meet deadlines without direct supervision.

• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced hospital environment.
• Strong coordination, adaptability and flexibility.
• Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
