Walk and Talk Volunteer, Residential Aged Care

About the role

HammondCare is looking for volunteers to join its Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme, which promotes links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community. As a Walk and Talk volunteer at the Horsley residential aged care facility, you will take short strolls around the facility grounds and through the Horsley community, spending time outdoors with residents. The aim is to help residents stay active, maintain their mobility and feel less isolated.

Key responsibilities

• Take gentle walks around the facility grounds and through the Horsley community
• Provide support to residents in the cottages during short visits
• Keep conversations going and share simple moments of connection and movement

Required profile

• Available for visits of around 1 hour, Monday to Friday, between 9am and 11:30am or 1pm and 4pm
• 18 years or older
• An NDIS Worker Screening Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
