Volunteer Mini-Van Driver

About the role

HammondCare Horsley, a residential aged care facility in NSW, is looking for a friendly volunteer mini-van driver to take its aged care residents on short weekday outings and round trips. One of the care staff joins each trip to look after residents' care needs, so the driver's main contribution is providing transport and a warm presence.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the mini-van on short weekday outings and round trips for residents
• Meet care staff on each trip, who look after residents' care needs
• Bring a friendly attitude and a love of driving; no other skills are required

Required profile

• Aged 18 or older
• Valid driver's licence (minimum C class)
• NDIS Worker Screening Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare

Trips generally last 1-2 hours between 9:30am-11:30am and 1pm-3pm, and a suitable day of the week or fortnight can be discussed based on availability. HammondCare is an independent Christian charity and provides the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme, which connects elderly people with volunteers in their local community.
