Veterinary Nurse - Small Animal Practice

About the role

A busy, community-focused small animal practice in Brisbane is seeking a compassionate, motivated and experienced Veterinary Nurse to join its clinical team on a full-time basis. The nurse supports veterinarians across a wide range of clinical and surgical cases and contributes to the day-to-day running of the clinic through nursing and reception duties.

Key responsibilities

• Surgical nursing assistance, including anaesthetic monitoring and patient recovery
• Patient handling, restraint and pre- and post-operative care
• Medication administration and inpatient care
• Assisting with diagnostic imaging and laboratory work
• Maintaining accurate clinical records
• Client communication and education
• General reception and front-of-house support when required
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised clinical environment

Required profile

• Qualified Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent preferred)
• Experience in small animal clinical practice preferred; motivated newer nurses are encouraged to apply
• Confident in anaesthetic monitoring and surgical assistance
• Calm under pressure and able to multitask in a busy environment
• Strong communicator with excellent client care skills
• Team player with a positive, professional attitude
