Veterinary Internal Medicine Specialist – MVSC

About the role

Join Melbourne Veterinary Specialist Centre (MVSC) as a board‑certified Internal Medicine Specialist (or near‑exam registrar) in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. You will work from the purpose‑built Glen Waverley hospital alongside experienced specialists and a resident.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied and complex referral caseload, delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based specialist care.
• Work closely with specialist teams in Surgery, Dermatology and Behavioural Medicine.
• Contribute to the growth and development of the Internal Medicine service.
• Maintain a structured, manageable workload with minimal after‑hours requirements.

Required profile

• Veterinary degree registerable in Australia.
• Specialist qualifications (FANZCVS, DACVIM or DECVIM) or completed residency with plans to sit exams soon.
• Willingness to start on a fixed‑term contract with potential for permanent placement.

Required skills

• Experience with advanced imaging such as high‑field MRI and 64‑slice CT.
• Ability to perform thorough diagnostic work‑ups and interpret results.
