Veterinary Director – Emergency & Critical Care

About the role

Lead clinically and inspire a team at the Animal Emergency Centre (AEC) Midland on a part‑time basis. This role blends hands‑on emergency veterinary practice with strategic leadership to shape the future of Emergency & Critical Care in Perth.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and support to the veterinary team.
• Mentor and coach veterinarians, fostering confidence, capability and career progression.
• Maintain high standards of patient care, clinical governance and client communication.
• Collaborate with the Business Manager and hospital leadership on operational initiatives.
• Participate in clinical reporting, case reviews and quality improvement activities.
• Strengthen relationships with referring veterinarians and the broader veterinary community.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Emergency & Critical Care.
• Strong ECC clinical experience; ECC membership or progression highly regarded.
• Passion for mentoring, developing and supporting other veterinarians.
• Excellent communication, organisational and leadership abilities.
• Collaborative leadership style with a focus on a positive team environment.
