Venue Manager - New Venue, Melbourne

About the role

An experienced Venue Manager is sought to join the opening team of a brand-new hospitality and entertainment venue in Melbourne. The role is permanent and involves working alongside an experienced General Manager to help launch the venue, build a strong team and set up a positive culture from day one. The venue offers quality food, beverage and entertainment and is described as busy and family-focused.

Key responsibilities

• Play a key role in the opening and launch of the new venue
• Work closely with the General Manager on day-to-day operations
• Lead the venue with a hands-on management style
• Build, develop and motivate a strong venue team
• Drive excellent customer service and high operational standards
• Manage rosters, labour costs, stock control and venue performance
• Build a positive, accountable and engaged team culture
• Ensure compliance with food safety, liquor licensing and workplace procedures
• Support the achievement of operational and financial goals

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Venue Manager or as an experienced Assistant Manager
• A strong people leader who enjoys developing and motivating teams
• Confident managing busy service periods and staying calm under pressure
• Good understanding of labour management, stock control and venue profitability
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Available to work a rotating roster, including evenings and weekends

What we offer

• Salary of $75,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience
