Undergraduate Accountant – Full-Time (Sydney CBD)

About the role

Our client, a well‑established chartered accounting and advisory firm in Sydney’s CBD, is seeking an ambitious Undergraduate Accountant to work full‑time while completing an accounting degree. The role offers structured training, mentorship from experienced accountants and exposure to a diverse client base ranging from high‑net‑worth individuals to mid‑size businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with bookkeeping, payroll, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS), payroll lodgements and month‑end reporting.
• Help prepare tax returns and financial statements for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and SMSFs.
• Participate in training and professional development activities.
• Contribute to team and firm‑wide objectives.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Commerce or Business degree majoring in Accounting (or final year).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and methodical work approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Proactive attitude with a genuine willingness to learn.
• Interest in cloud accounting software and technology.
• Strong sense of accountability, professionalism and curiosity.

Required skills

• Xero (cloud accounting software).
