Transport Supervisor

About the role

Centurion, a leading Australian logistics provider, is seeking an experienced Transport Supervisor for its Mackay operations. The role will lead a small team of Allocators and Operations Support staff, coordinate daily transport activities, and ensure service delivery meets mining client expectations and contractual KPIs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and support Allocators and Operations Support personnel to achieve operational targets.
• Coordinate with the Yard Supervisor and PUD team to optimise loading and improve efficiency.
• Plan and schedule transport tasks in line with customer requirements and fatigue‑management regulations.
• Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and all statutory and regulatory obligations.
• Maintain accurate communication with customers, vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare and submit subcontractor invoices promptly to support cost control.
• Monitor daily operational costs, subcontractor and labour hours, and drive cost‑efficiency initiatives.
• Identify, document and implement continuous improvement projects across operations.
• Manage relationships with key customers, suppliers and subcontractors to uphold high service standards.
• Conduct weekly toolbox talks, upload them to the Safety Management System and ensure training compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising general freight transport operations.
• Strong leadership and people‑management capabilities.
• Solid understanding of transport compliance, including CoR and fatigue‑management.
• Experience in mining or heavy‑transport environments (highly regarded).
• Commercial acumen with ability to manage costs and improve performance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Relevant qualification such as TLFI0006 (heavy vehicle driver fatigue management) and knowledge of NHVR regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
