Import Operations Coordinator – International Freight

About the role

An established international freight forwarding business is looking for an experienced Import Operations Coordinator to join its Brisbane team. This is a true end‑to‑end import operations role where you’ll take ownership of your own portfolio of clients and manage their shipments from initial job registration right through to final delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end import shipments across sea and air freight.
• Register new jobs and maintain accurate shipment files.
• Act as the primary operational contact for a dedicated client portfolio.
• Coordinate with overseas agents, shipping lines, airlines and other service providers.
• Monitor shipments from origin to arrival in Australia and arrange transport, cartage and final‑mile delivery.
• Prepare documentation for Customs clearance and Quarantine/Biosecurity requirements.
• Work closely with internal Customs team to ensure efficient clearance.
• Handle inspections, holds and other clearance requirements as needed.
• Provide proactive shipment updates and resolve potential delays.
• Manage shipment documentation, costings, accruals and supplier invoices.

Required profile

• Previous experience in international freight forwarding or import operations.
• Strong end‑to‑end import knowledge and experience managing a client portfolio.
• Understanding of Customs and Quarantine/Biosecurity processes.
• Experience coordinating sea freight and preferably air freight imports.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple live shipments and competing deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and file‑management skills.

What we offer

• Permanent, full‑time position based in Murarrie, Brisbane.
• Salary range $75,000 – $100,000 + superannuation, dependent on experience.
