Transport Coordinator

About the role

The Transport Coordinator will be based at Coates' Dandenong branch and will manage the safe, cost‑effective and efficient movement of equipment across interstate, intrastate and customer sites. This fixed‑term role supports the broader Coates business by coordinating deliveries, pickups and related logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Source and contract transport providers for equipment delivery and collection.
• Schedule daily deliveries using Coates’ transport management software, coordinating both company and contractor drivers.
• Liaise with Fleet and Operations teams to ensure timely and safe movements.
• Raise and close purchase orders within monthly targets.
• Analyse transport activity and propose process improvements.

Required profile

• Previous experience in transport, fleet or logistics coordination.
• Strong time‑management and attention to detail.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic diagnostic or preventative maintenance tasks.
• Experience processing invoices and payments.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with Transport Management Systems (TMS) or similar scheduling software.
• Basic troubleshooting and diagnostic maintenance skills.
